About the Author

Kayte Young (she/her) is a queer artist who makes non-fiction comics in her basement in Bloomington, Indiana. She’s the author of the graphic memoir chapbook, eleven (Ledge Mule Press, 2018). Her comics have appeared in The Nib, The Houston Chronicle, Crucial Comix and the SAW anthology, Where You Live. She teaches a comics-for-writers class with Grackle & Grackle and she is an active member of the Sequential Artists Workshop (SAW). Her long-form graphic memoir project grapples with questions surrounding home, safety, and shelter. Her story examines issues of punishment and privilege, debt and shame, and the long-term consequences of living within a domestic economy where the currency was her body. Her day-job includes hosting, writing and producing a weekly radio show and podcast with Indiana Public Media. Find Kayte on Instagram @cake8cake
