Irmina Walczak

Irmina Walczak and Sávio Freire are a Polish-Brazilian couple of photographers, researchers and educators. Parents of three; digital nomads.

Irmina is a PhD in Social Sciences by University of Brasilia and brings to the photography practice of both a visual anthropology approach. Since 2011, they have dedicated themselves to investigation of intimacy, daily life aspects and family relationships. They had developed a body of work about childhood free of technology and close to nature which was published in 2016 in a monograph entitled “Retratos pra Yayá” (Portraits for Yayá).

In 2020 they launched Clan Photo Magazine – an international publication dedicated to the familial and small communities’ photography.

Irmina is a member of TiT Collective and Women Photograph.
